Guns and Trees, Bullets and Seeds

As I reach into my pocket to grab a handful of seeds, I stop and suddenly realise that it wasn’t so long ago that I was grabbing handfuls of bullets out of the exact same pocket to slot into a rifle magazine. The peaceful sounds of birds that surround me now in this beautiful moment have replaced the damaging sounds of grenades and explosions that once upon a time flashed and erupted around me. I use this moment to reflect on where I have been and where I am going.
