Once, the Land of Mystic was a peaceful realm where all mages lived in harmony, until the monstrous Lovictus arrived, spreading utter destruction. To stop him, the eight elemental mages debated two plans, resulting in a fierce schism that permantently divided them into two opposing groups: the benevolent illumination mages of Silvermist and the darker Nebulous mages of Shadow Falls. Ultimately, the Nebulous mages sacrificed the Fire Mage's familiar, Phoenix, to seal Lovictus underground, a seal they now know will eventually break. Three thousand years later, the land remains divided, and 14 year old Aurora Raven Flair or "The Red Raven"lives in the Nebulous village of Oscuro, isolated and ostracized for her fiery red hair and supposed lack of magic. While running away after a confrontation with cruel villagers, Raven encounters a mysterious elf and witnesses a powerful tremor, soon after learning her ailing Nebulous mother, Nasha, is weakening. The situation becomes dire as Nasha's familiar, Garf, fades away, revealing that his sacrifice will temporarily sustain her mother's life. Now alone, Raven is left with Garf's final promise : to keep fighting and show the world who she truly is, just as the possibility of the ancient seal breaking looms.
